Privacy policy

Willow Wonders is run by Julie Patterson from Tully House, Tully Hill, Co. Sligo, Ireland. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use www.willowwonders.com or buy the book, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We only collect what we need to sell and post a book, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, what you bought and how much you paid. These are collected on our payment provider's checkout page and passed to us so we can post your order.
- Payment details: your card details are entered directly on Stripe's secure checkout page. We never see or store your card number. Stripe processes the payment and tells us only that it succeeded.
- When you contact us: your email address and whatever you write to us.
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We also use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It is cookie-free and does not identify you personally. We do not use advertising cookies on this site.
How we use it
- To process, pack and post your order, and to email you a confirmation and a note when it has been sent.
- To answer your questions and deal with returns or refunds.
- To keep the accounting records that Irish tax law requires us to keep.
- To detect and prevent fraud, which our payment provider does on our behalf.
We will not send you marketing emails or add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services we need to run the shop:
- Stripe, which takes your payment. See the Stripe privacy policy.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- An Post, Royal Mail or the courier that delivers your parcel — your name and address only.
- Our own order-management system and email service, used to record your order and send you emails about it.
Some of these services may store data outside Ireland. Where they do, they are bound by contracts that protect your data to the standard required by EU law.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years after the order, because Irish tax law requires it. Emails you send us are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your query. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then deleted.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it.
To exercise any of these rights, email julie@willowwonders.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.
Children
Willow Wonders is a book for children, but this website is for the grown-ups who buy it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
